Robinson Forest

Robinson Forest, consisting of nearly 15,000 acres, is managed by the University of Kentucky Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. Covered by second-growth forest, it is an outstanding setting for weather and climate monitoring in the complex terrain of eastern Kentucky. The Kentucky Climate Center at Western Kentucky University has partnered with the University of Kentucky on the installation and operation of two Kentucky Mesonet stations at Robinson Forest. These stations provide valuable data, as well as opportunities for research and outreach activities.
