The Kentucky Mesonet Consortium formalizes partnerships among Kentucky’s public universities dedicated to leveraging the value of the Mesonet for the benefit of the citizens of Kentucky. Therein, the Kentucky Mesonet will provide free access among members to meteorological data collected by the Kentucky Mesonet’s core network of stations for use in educational, research, and outreach activities. Member institutions include Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, and Western Kentucky University.

Classroom in Kentucky will have near real-time access through the Internet. The Consortium will encourage and publicize scholarship, fellowship, and internship opportunities for Kentucky's secondary and postsecondary students.
